About Mission Beach State School Mission Beach is situated on the coast; 2 hours drive south of Cairns and 3 hours drive north of Townsville. The school was originally built in 1953 in the 'tropical jungle' in Mission Beach. In 1993 it was relocated to Wongaling Beach due to increasing student numbers. Wongaling is the central part of the 14 kms of beach.
The school motto 'pride and effort' embodies the attitude and expectations of the community, staff and students.
We are proud to be part of education Queensland's far north region where schools have a clear improvement agenda founded on quality teaching and learning. The Australian curriculum is delivered via curriculum to classroom (C2C) and through explicit instruction.
About the Role You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. Uphold the principalship as a values-based, ethical and moral activity. Embed socially just practices in daily school life. Set high standards for student and staff performance. Active participants in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business. Futures oriented and strategic. Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling. Manage resources to achieve goals. A mandatory requirement of this role is: Current full registration, or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
