The Principal Lawyer will draft and negotiate contracts, manage risks, and ensure adherence to statutory obligations. With a focus on service excellence and relationship-building skills, this role offers an opportunity to add strategic value to projects & operations.

Description As the Principal Lawyer, you will:
Keep up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations in the industrial and manufacturing sectors. Develop and promote legal practices to enhance staff understanding and encourage proactive use of legal services. Provide expert legal, commercial, and probity advice to senior leadership and the Board, focusing on managing risks and ensuring project success. Offer advice on probity issues related to grants and procurement. Advise on statutory compliance and governance, including drafting and reviewing policies and charters. Manage and draft amendments for various contracts, ensuring compliance with intellectual property and insurance terms. Lead the engagement of external legal firms for specialised advice as needed. Profile The successful candidate will have:
A law degree and current practising certificate. Background in commercial, contract, procurement, intellectual property, and governance law, ideally in the public sector. Ability to provide practical, client-focused legal and commercial advice on complex issues. Proven experience in building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and stakeholders. Skilled at handling competing priorities and working well under pressure. Demonstrated ability to develop strategic and innovative solutions. Job Offer Flexible working options.
