The aim of this role is to: Utilise contemporary, best practice investigative methodologies to conduct timely and reliable investigations in relation to complex and sensitive allegations of corrupt conduct as defined under the Crime and Corruption Act 2001, as well as allegations of staff misconduct that fall within the scope of the Public Service Commission's (PSC) Conduct and Performance Excellence (CaPE) framework.
Manage an investigative workload and undertake and lead investigations, producing and prioritising high quality, reliable, detailed, and timely investigation reports that contain well-developed and logical conclusions.
Contribute to the reduction in instances of corrupt conduct and misconduct by critically assessing the circumstances surrounding identified corrupt conduct and misconduct to identify deficiencies in process, procedure, or systems, and develop realistic, value-adding systemic recommendations.
Provide advice, support, and guidance to managers and supervisors on corruption prevention strategies and incidents involving corrupt conduct and conduct categorised within the CaPE framework, thereby enhancing the region's capacity to deal more effectively with such issues.
Recommend improvements to Commission policies, procedures, and/or administrative practices, and where appropriate, assist in the implementation of the recommendations.
Develop and deliver training and education programs in support of these improvements and recommendations.
Participate in projects and other activities to improve administrative practices in the Commission.
Engage and liaise with external agencies necessary in the investigation and management of customer complaints and employee conduct matters, including the Office of the Queensland Ombudsman and the Crime and Corruption Commission.
Effectively manage public interest disclosures submitted under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010 in accordance with legislation, standards, and departmental policies and procedures.
