Here at Jacobs we also support a plethora of flexible working practices such as flexible start/end times, job share arrangements, working from home, and part-time arrangements.About the team We are looking for a Principal Hydrologist (Water Resources) to help us deliver a strong pipeline of workThe role sits within the Water Resources section which encompasses the geographical areas of , , NSW and New Zealand. We support flexible working arrangements, and the successful candidate can be based anywhere within this area. Our section contains a range of specialist skills in hydrology, flood modelling, aquatic ecology, water quality and hydrogeology. As a section we have a gender split of 40% male:40% female:20% flexible.As a Principal Hydrologist (Water Resources), you will be responsible for leading the technical input to projects, building relationships with internal and external clients, and coaching a range of less experienced professionals. You will be supported to pursue technical excellence and innovation through programs such as Beyond If innovation funding, and BeyondExcellence Awards that reward those who demonstrate Jacobs shared values – we do things right, we challenge the accepted, we aim higher, we live inclusion. Here's What You'll Need: You will be responsible for: Leading the development of technical approaches for projects, taking into consideration client needs, company strategy, resource requirements, financial performance and alternative approaches.Quality assurance on hydrology and water resource modelling projects to ensure deliverables are technically defensible and meet client expectations. Actively sharing and applying best, and innovative, practices in water resource modelling. Providing project oversight on time, budget, client relationships and quality of deliverables through roles such as project manager, designated project executive, project director and technical reviewer. Sharing technical innovations and lessons learned with the team and relevant Communities of Practice Representing Jacobs in the industry through writing and presenting papers at conferences, as well as coaching less experienced staff to do so.Driving a culture of learning and teaching, including helping technical staff to identify stretch goals and presenting on lessons learned. Using relationships with clients to identify upcoming work.Technical and speciality skills: Degree in Engineering or related fieldDemonstrated experience in the use of water resource modelling to solve complex problems Established trusted relationships with clients across South East Australia and New Zealand. Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate within a team in order to improve technical skills, share resources and deliver work packages. Industry leading proficiency in the use of standard tools, techniques and equipment that are required for the undertaking, completion and delivery of your work. Knowledge of the legislation and policies that are relevant to our work. Excellent communication skills with team members and clients. Involved in developing discipline relevant innovations. High emotional intelligence, with demonstrated ability to talk to clients in a confident manner, lead meetings, influence decisions and secure new opportunities with existing and new clients. Jacobs.
