About the roleThe Principal Hydrologist will be responsible for the growth, development, and delivery of SGME's ground and surface water discipline, performance, and reporting functions including key strategies such as Departmental Business Planning, Business Continuity Plans, Departmental Organisational Reporting, and Mentoring.
Candidates must provide inspiring and value-driven leadership for this discipline and work collaboratively with other internal disciplines and external stakeholders. Ensure timely progress on project deliverables towards meeting client and project objectives and that SGME's values are reflected throughout all activities and actions. Deliver on SGME's business plan and growth agenda. Responsible for building a cohesive and high-performance team within the discipline, including management of project budgets, continuous measurement of discipline performance, governance, and compliance obligations. Demonstrate genuine passion and commitment to environmental management and a proven track record to meet and exceed sales targets.

Tertiary qualified in the relevant discipline, solid understanding of mine life-cycle. Hands-on value-based leader, delivering projects, building engagements with clients, and championing innovation while relishing the opportunity to contribute to overall organisational success, making a significant positive impact. Strong knowledge of the Mining Act and relevant mine closure and rehabilitation practices.
