People and Culture provides a range of strategic human resource services and advice to the department in the areas of organisational change, employment programs, training and development, employee relations (ER) and workplace health and safety.
Our focus is on delivering best practice support and advice by working collaboratively with managers and staff to ensure HR activities and initiatives align with the key focus areas of service delivery, performance and business renewal.
Reporting to the Manager, you will provide strategic and operationally focussed advisory and consultancy services, particularly in the areas of recruitment and selection, people management, the development and implementation of workforce planning initiatives, employee entitlements, case management, performance management and organisational change.

Reporting to the Manager, you will provide strategic and operationally focussed advisory and consultancy services, particularly in the areas of recruitment and selection, people management, the development and implementation of workforce planning initiatives, employee entitlements, case management, performance management and organisational change.
The role supervises a small team of Senior HR Consultants, who deliver strategic HR service across a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce.
What you will be doing
• Supporting operational areas in developing, implementing, administering, and reviewing strategic human resource management and organisational frameworks.
• Facilitating the resolution of complex employee issues through the provision of effective support, through case management and workplace interventions.
• Undertaking HR projects, including research and preparation of associated reports, submissions and correspondence, and implement agreed outcomes.
• Providing relevant data and accompanying analysis to support business initiatives and employee management including establishment management.
• Identifying strategic HR issues and develop strategies that align with organisational needs and comply with relevant HR legislative and departmental policy requirements.
• Coordinating the implementation of change activities impacting HR systems and services and develop and implement strategies that effect changwhile maintaining service delivery to management and staff.
While there are no mandatory requirements for this role, tertiary qualifications in human resources will be highly regarded. Additionally, please note that this role will involve traveling across Queensland when required.
