This is an exciting opportunity for motivated doctors to work within a dynamic Orthopaedic Department within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service, gaining valuable experience. As a PHO in Orthopaedics, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to patients, collaborating with senior medical staff and contributing to the teaching and training of junior staff.
The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 200,000 residents including several rural communities.
The hospital is a state-of-the-art facility which has recently added a new emergency department and ICU unit, it has about 25,000 general admissions per year.
The location has endless sandy beaches, ancient reefs teeming with life off untouched Great Barrier Reef islands, and the tranquillity of lush tropical rainforest.
This is a great lifestyle location with very affordable housing and good schools.
The main hospital in central Queensland has a wide array of medical and allied health services, from Coronary Care, Intensive Care, Emergency and outpatients' departments as well as renal support services. The hospital has currently 318 busy beds.
The town is located less than 400km north of Brisbane. It has a very peaceful culture and environment very ideal for relax and stress free life.
