Description About the role: Our Geosciences team is an integrated geotechnical engineering, hydrogeological and environmental consultant to a wide range of clients working on infrastructure and developments, both for private and public entities across Australia. Due to continued growth in our Geosciences team, we have an opportunity for a Principal level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Brisbane or Mackay office.

Day to day tasks would involve: Plan, coordinate and manage multiple concurrent site investigations to deliver geotechnical investigative reports - including interpreting geotechnical data, performing analysis and making recommendations. Undertaking geotechnical analysis in areas such as slope stability, pavement designs, foundations and retaining walls. Lead and manage the delivery of projects, ensuring work outputs are of a high technical standard. Undertake interpretation and analysis of data to develop and implement practical and commercial solutions. Managing key projects from start to finish in line with project specifications. Promote a culture of high performance, delivery and continuous improvement and mentor and coach more junior team members. Support the Team Leader and others across the company on opportunities and pursuits. Provide input to strategic planning and implementation of initiatives within the business unit. To be successful for this role you'll need: Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with completion of geotechnical electives and/or major as part of your university studies. 10 years' practical experience, preferably with a geotechnical engineering consultancy. Chartered Engineering credentials (RPEQ / CPEng / NER). Expertise in field geotechnical investigations including logging and supervision of geotechnical drilling activities as well as laboratory testing knowledge. Experience with engineering software packages such as gINT, GEOSTUDIO, PLAXIS, ROCSCIENCE, AutoCAD would be of assistance. A demonstrated passion for working in the geotechnical engineering discipline. Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
