The Role GoPro is seeking a top-tier Firmware Engineer to join their innovative engineering team developing tech-enabled motorcycle helmets trackside at Sydney Motorsport Park. On this team, you will be responsible for developing the smart helmets from concept to production. You will work closely with electrical engineering designers to provide the firmware that brings life and function to the boards.
What You Will Do Research and create proof-of-concepts for future product technologiesGather and interpret product requirements and featuresDevelop, integrate, and test firmware modules for future productsWork closely with hardware teams and chip vendors to bring up and validate hardwareCollaborate with overseas firmware teams to guide and coordinate the firmware development effort based on defined architectureSkills We're Excited About BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, MA/MS preferred15+ years of hands-on experience developing embedded software/firmwareStrong C programming and embedded firmware development skills for consumer electronic productsHigh level of understanding of an embedded system RTOS such as Linux, ThreadX, uItron, etc.Familiarity with hardwareAbility to work independently with little direction, a consummate team playerBonus Points For Familiarity with one or more of the following hardware interfaces: I2C, SPI, SDIO, JTAG, UART, I2S, USB, etc.Proficient in all levels of software, from low-level interrupt handling, device drivers up to high-level media applicationsUnderstanding of concepts of communications: message queues, IPC, etc.Why Work With Us?
