As the Principal Finance Manager for the Digital Health Transformation (DHT) Program, this role is instrumental in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the initiative.
The Principal Finance Manager will contribute to the effective utilisation and transparent reporting of the substantial investment, ensuring the success of a large-scale multi-year ICT investment by the Tasmanian Government. This will require the incumbent to:
Navigate the complex financial landscape of the DHT Program to ensure optimal resource allocation.
Drive meticulous financial reporting to enhance transparency and accountability.
Facilitate strategic financial decisions to maximise the impact of the substantial government investment.
Actively support forward planning, scheduling and forecasting including providing authoritative advice required as part of Treasury liaison and Ministerial briefings.
The Role
Lead the allocation of annual budgets to the DHT program in collaboration with Finance and Business Support and develop financial forecasts aligned with DHT Program objectives, conducting comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Develop and implement robust financial and resource management strategies and procedures consistent with Agency and Government policies, including monitoring and control of the DHT Program budget, and collaborate with program and project managers to meet financial goals.
Prepare and deliver accurate, timely and fit-for-purpose financial and establishment reports for executive, senior management, governance groups, and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with government timeframes, policies, regulations and methodologies.
Serve as a primary point of contact for financial inquiries regarding program and project budgets, providing stakeholders with timely and accurate information. Additionally, collaborate seamlessly with cross functional teams to ensure precise and timely recording of financial and establishment data, fostering transparency and accountability in DHT finance and budget management processes.
