The Evidence Services Unit within Court Services Queensland is responsible for establishing a Sexual Offence Expert Evidence Panel (Panel) as per recommendation 80 of the Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce Hear her voice: Report Two.
The Principal Expert will develop and implement a matching procedure to process incoming referrals; support and guide referring parties through the referral process; and liaise with Panel experts. They will also identify and address additional training needs of staff and stakeholders and may be required to undertake report writing functions and give evidence in Court on behalf of the Panel.

The Evidence Services Unit is based at the Supreme, District and Land Court Service, and working closely with the judiciary will not only enhance your knowledge of the legal system but also provide a rewarding experience in contributing to the delivery of justice in Queensland.
As the Principal Expert, Expert Evidence Panel, your key responsibilities will be: Processing incoming referrals to the Panel by interpreting the information provided by the referring party and determining the skillset required of an expert for each matter referred.Contributing to the ongoing development of the Panel register by reviewing and processing prequalification applications, at the direction of the Program Manager.Working collaboratively with other Panel Program staff to maintain the Panel register.Providing support and guidance to referring parties around the referral process and relevant information to be included in the referral form.Providing support and guidance to experts on the Panel around the format and subject matter of reports to be returned to referring parties.At the direction of the Program Manager, undertake assessment and report writing functions on behalf of the Panel, and attend Court to provide evidence, if so required.Undertaking liaison with stakeholders, including the peak professional bodies and the Panel Steering Committee, the judiciary, senior management and other relevant agencies in order to monitor and analyse emerging issues and trends in relation to this reform as required.Participating in business planning for the continuation of the pilot program through to evaluation stage, with a particular focus on the quality assurance of reports.Preparing authoritative reports, documents, executive briefs, correspondence and presentations (including training, when required) as directed by the Program Manager.A complete overview of the recommendations can be accessed through the Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce website at Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce.
