The Principal Evaluation Officer provides monitoring and evaluation work for the initiatives under the Aboriginal Justice Agreement (AJA), including evaluation planning, liaison with external evaluators and service providers, sourcing and collating information, monitoring, and reporting.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and plan the program evaluation requirements of the AJA in accordance with the Government Program Evaluation Framework.Prepare monitoring reports showing progress on AJA initiatives.Undertake internal evaluations of AJA initiatives where appropriate, including coordinating a project team, sourcing and interpreting relevant data, and preparing reports detailing the methodology, findings, and recommendations.Support procurement and tendering work, liaise with external evaluators, and provide information and critical review for external evaluations.Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of criminal justice initiatives in the Northern Territory.Selection Criteria:Essential:Experience in undertaking evaluation, with strong project management and critical thinking skills.Highly developed written and oral communications skills, ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders including senior executives and Aboriginal people.Demonstrated high level organisation skills including ability to make sound judgements on the basis of available information.Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy and accountability, manage pressure, and incorporate continuous improvement.High level diplomacy skills, sound judgement, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.Understanding of the Aboriginal Justice Agreement and appreciation of issues impacting Aboriginal people's relationship with the criminal justice system.Desirable:Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.An understanding of criminal justice issues relevant to the Northern Territory.Further Information:
