About the role: This is a great opportunity for a Principal Environmental Scientist to join the Environment and Heritage Services team. You will be responsible for leading the assessment of environmental impacts and securing approvals along the asset value chain. You will guide and mentor the team, innovate and share knowledge. Your professional expertise will also support strategic and operational business needs.
About you: About 10-15 years' relevant industry experienceTertiary qualifications in environmental science / environmental management (or other relevant discipline)Proven experience in complex environmental planning, impact assessment and approvals for infrastructure assets considering risk, cost and performance driversApplied knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and current environmental issues for complex projects/programsProven technical leadership in cross-functional teamsExperience leading and mentoring team membersSuperior communication and negotiation skills illustrating effective working relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders and regulatorsUnderstanding and experience with major water utility or similar.Please note as part of the application process, you will be asked to undergo background checks which includes a criminal history check.
