Role description:
An exciting opportunity for a Principal Environmental Scientist specializing in contaminated land. You will be working alongside a national team on large-scale projects. In saying this, you would be expected to be able to manage projects autonomously, mentor and develop staff, manage and grow clients, and respond to public and private matters.
Role accountabilities:
Project management of assigned projects to satisfy the requirements of quality, budget, and program.
Carrying out assigned activities including investigation, analysis, and reporting in accordance with accepted practice and principles.
Supervising the preparation of project reports and other deliverables as well as project proposals.
Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
Providing support and technical advice to project team members.
Reviewing and ensuring compliance in the components of the project for which responsible, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies.
Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients on projects.
Contribute to the management of commercial aspects (contract, invoicing, debt management, client management, etc.) relating to projects for which responsible.
Maintaining ongoing communication with discipline leaders and clients when required, to ensure effective communication on matters relevant to the project.
Developing an understanding of the background of the client's business and industry to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry.
Providing support to the Team Leader to achieve Business Area goals and championing a quality, innovative, client-focused, and entrepreneurial culture.
Developing team members to their full potential.
Engaging in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis.
Ensuring you are familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant degree with Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation. 8+ years experience. Professional services background. Relevant post-graduate experience, including supervising aspects of a project, application of standards, and managing resources. Good motivation, influencing, people management, and delegation skills. Ability to think in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner.
