Principal Environmental Officer and Senior Environmental Officer Talent Pool About the Office of the Appeals Convenor
The Appeals Convenor provides advice to the Minister for Environment on various matters relating to appeals lodged under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (EP Act).
The primary function is the provision of a report which accompanies each appeal and informs the Minister's decision.

The Office of the Appeals Convenor consists of a team of dynamic and solutions-focused environmental professionals who assist in investigations on a large range of environmental decisions, including environmental impact assessments, permits for clearing native vegetation, and conditions applying to works approvals and licences.

The team works closely and collaboratively to support the Appeals Convenor in conducting their duties.
The office is conveniently located in central Perth CBD, close to shops, cafes, and public transport, with access to a variety of planned building activities and outstanding end-of-trip facilities.

The Opportunity:
The Department is looking to establish a talent pool of motivated professionals, Environmental Assessment Officers , that can deliver timely and evidence-based environmental appeals assessments.
The Office of the Appeals Convenor has upcoming opportunities, leading significant appeals assessments for our unique Western Australian environment!

As an Environmental Assessment Officer, you will have the opportunity to work with like-minded, passionate colleagues and embody a dedication to ensure that appeals are delivered in an efficient, transparent manner and demonstrate evidence-based determination.

As a Principal Environmental Officer – Appeals (Specified Calling Level 4) , you will support the appeals investigation process to ensure appeals are determined in a timely manner in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (EP Act).
Working closely with the Director and Appeals Convenor, the position will also support the development of the strategic plan, operational plan, and documentation to improve governance and contribute to the effective delivery of the Office of the Appeals Convenor function.

As a Senior Environmental Assessment Officer – Appeals (Specified Calling Level 3) , you will support the appeals investigation process to ensure appeals are determined in a timely manner in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (EP Act).
Working with the Principal, and closely with the Director and Appeals Convenor, the position will also support the continuous improvement of governance processes and contribute to the effective delivery of the Office of the Appeals Convenor function.

How to apply:
