Our environment and sustainability capability is intrinsic to the success of our business goals, supported by a team of around 100 environmental scientists globally.Purpose of the RoleXodus is seeking a senior environmental consultant with a strong track record in marine industries, looking to build on a portfolio of project management and leadership in environmental approvals.
This role (either full or part-time) provides opportunities to work across multiple industries and take a senior delivery position within a supportive team environment.We have a thrilling mix of clients and projects across various sectors, including oil and gas production, offshore wind, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen, cables and interconnectors, decommissioning, and decarbonisation.
Our team includes seasoned specialists in technical receptor topics alongside industry experts and regulatory leaders.
The versatile skills in technical, project, and people management that experienced environmental approvals professionals bring are invaluable for ensuring quality in every aspect of our delivery.We are seeking established industry professionals who can provide advice across the project lifecycle.
Our ideal colleague would have a full understanding of the Commonwealth approvals process and experience in engaging with NOPSEMA and the OIR.
We value professionals who are comfortable supporting and mentoring early and mid-career consultants and have experience in client engagement and project delivery.RequirementsTaking the lead on diverse projects, handling environmental approvals for marine energy and coastal initiatives, including oil and gas activities, offshore wind, interconnectors, cables, and CCS.Cultivating relationships with stakeholders and clients while promoting industry standards and practices.Creating high-quality reports and presentations, overseeing quality assurance and control.Innovating strategies for environmental approvals in Commonwealth waters.Providing project-focused solutions for State water environmental approvals.Nurturing talent by developing, mentoring, and upskilling colleagues.Collaborating with specialists in ecology and engineering to deliver integrated project scopes.Shaping business development strategies and implementing action plans, including identifying and securing important projects.Qualifications & ExperienceA strong background in a senior role with comprehensive experience in navigating the approvals process for Australian Commonwealth waters.Experience leading teams and delivering Environmental Plans (EP), Offshore Project Plans (OPP), and/or Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).Expertise in providing advice to clients and fostering stakeholder engagement.Demonstrated success in business development, including winning proposals.Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong organisational and time management abilities.Expertise in a relevant specialist area, such as fish ecology, ornithology, or marine mammals, or within industries like oil and gas, offshore wind, CCS, or cables.Experience in a consultancy setting or transferable skills.Experience in line management or team leadership.BenefitsA diverse, inclusive, respectful, and welcoming workplace.Enhanced parental and shared parental leave pay policies.Market competitive salary due to the value placed on hard work and contributions.Flexible working arrangements, allowing a mix of office and remote work.Training and development opportunities to support growth.Comprehensive health and wellbeing benefits for you and your loved ones.Exciting events on our social calendar to enhance work life.Xodus is dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace where every voice is valued, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
