What you'll do: Due to a strong pipeline of exciting large-scale new energy projects, an opportunity is now available for a Principal Environmental Consultant – Approvals Team Lead, this is an exciting leadership role in Worley Consulting Western Australian (WA) Environment Team to manage the delivery and growth of our Approvals business. The role will be to operate at a Principal Environmental Consultant level, with a focus on provision of approvals advice and to realise our purpose "to deliver a more sustainable world". Responsibilities will include:  Management of a team of consultants responsible for the delivery of approvals strategies, approvals advice, studies design and implementation, WA State and Commonwealth approvals Development of the team strategy to further grow Worley Consulting approvals team, with support from the WA and ANZ Environment Managers Business development and client management. You will be responsible for managing client relationships and tracking opportunities from identification through to completion. Project management, including leadership, budgeting and resourcing. You will be responsible for the commercial performance of projects. With support from the WA Environment Manager, identify and recruit capability to support the delivery of environmental approvals and management projects in WA.  Ensuring the performance of members of the Approvals Team is agreed and monitored through the setting and support to achieve KPIs. Promotion of a healthy culture within the Approvals Team, WA Environment Team and broader ANZ Environment & Society group. You will lead by example. Mentoring and training of junior staff members in the delivery of environmental approvals and management projects. Ensuring the safe delivery of studies and site work related to environmental projects, including the preparation and review of field HSE plans, and ensuring the safety of team members whilst on site. What you'll have: Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or relevant disciplines Extensive experience in the environmental field Extensive knowledge and experience with WA environmental approvals, in particular Part IV and V of the EP Act, and Commonwealth environmental regulations Prior experience mentoring or managing teams or individuals. A positive driven mindset that will facilitate forward momentum within the team. Strong interpersonal skills, established client/industry networks, demonstrated business development experience and be capable of securing work related to onshore environmental approvals and management. Well-developed project management skills including budget and schedule control, and sub-consultant management. Knowledge of the terrestrial approvals and environmental management opportunities and business within WA.
