About the Role Reporting to the BMA Superintendent – Environmental Approvals, an exciting new permanent opportunity has arisen for an Environment Approvals Principal. In this position you will be responsible for supporting the BMA Approvals Team to deliver environmental approvals and ongoing improvement of environmental performance. This role is offered in Brisbane on a Mon – Fri roster. Flexible work options will be considered.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Approvals Team to deliver environmental approvals for greenfield projects, brownfield expansions, exploration and various studies Providing technical support for Studies in relation to environmental compliance and management Undertaking the delivery of environmental studies for the attainment of environmental approvals for existing and future operations within Federal, Queensland and local government jurisdictions Coordinating approvals across various mines, the port and other infrastructure projects About You We have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership and communication skills. Your interpersonal skills will foster collaborative working relationships and your ability to consolidate and analyse information will provide critical thinking and a solution-focused attitude. Utilising your skills & experience in environmental approvals, planning and logistics, you will demonstrate:
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent Relevant experience in environmental impact assessments and delivering environmental approvals Understanding of Commonwealth and State (Qld) Environmental Legislation Ability to prioritise multiple demands and problem solve in a calm and efficient manner Experience working in and supporting project teams Understanding of environmental risks in the context of both operating and project environments A strong understanding of natural resource (e.g. water, energy) sustainability You may also have:
