The combined production from all sites is expected to make our Client one of the global leaders in the production of quality metallurgical coal. Our client already has a portfolio of existing mine sites in operation, with further greenfield projects to be developed in the pipeline.The OpportunityTo assist with our client's growth plans, our client is currently seeking a Principal Environmental Advisor to be based in their Brisbane CBD office. This is a critical role that will lead with the application, implementation, and compliance with Environmental Authorities, ERCs, PRCPs, and Federal EPBC approvals. The role will report to the Senior Manager – Environment and Approvals and is a place to grow your career in this space.What you'll be responsible forProviding technical advice to internal and external stakeholders around environmental management.Assisting on various projects and operations, focusing on planning approval strategies and implementation.Drafting documentation and reports as well as conducting technical reviews of specialist reports around EAs, PRCPs, ERCs, and EPBC approvals.Leading both the internal and external regulatory reporting.Identifying opportunities for ongoing improvement in line with industry best practices.Assisting with budgeting and cost controlling and ensuring work is performed in a safe and cost-effective manner.What you'll bringExperience in a coal mining and open cut environment is advantageous.5+ years in an environmental officer role or similar dealing with approvals.Understanding of GIS packages and environmental management.Tertiary qualifications in Science, Environment, Sustainability, or related fields.A strong commitment to safety, health, environment, community, and workplace diversity.
