About the RoleIn this role, your accountabilities with the biggest impact include supporting the iterative design, implementation and monitoring of strategic environmental improvement initiatives.
These will include:
Govern, improve and support implementation of strategic environmental improvement initiatives with particular regard to non-mineral waste and air qualityAddressing challenges with reliability and visibility of environmental data, particularly in regard to non-mineral waste management and air qualityProvide technical subject matter expertise to a variety of internal stakeholders, particularly in regards to non-mineral waste management and air quality monitoring, mitigation and managementSupport environmental initiatives through internal business planning cycles, gaining relevant senior leadership endorsement and approvals when requiredYou will also:
Actively apply change management and continuous improvement tools to improve processesConduct Field Leadership Activities, with specific focus on coaching of Line Leadership in environmental applicationsProactively support and champion the implementation of the Environmental Management SystemSupport the development of technical capabilities of operational environment team membersAbout YouWe have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership and communication skills. Your interpersonal skills will foster collaborative working relationships and your ability to consolidate and analyse information will provide critical thinking and a solution-focused attitude.

Passionate about the environment and driving high standards of environmental performance across BMALove connecting with people across the business to identify, scope and solve complex problems; and share learningsEnjoy interrogating data, systems and dashboards to draw actionable improvement insights and track performanceBe a natural communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skillsExcellent writer and be comfortable writing a board paper, technical report, newsletter or social media articleDemonstrated strong project management skills, including for asset-wide, multi-stakeholder projectsTrack record of leading complex change initiativesRelevant environment or engineering related degree and industry environmental management experienceAbout Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
