Principal Engineering Manager

Tell me about this role:
We are currently looking for an NV1 (or higher) security cleared Principal Engineering Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. You'll be supporting Defence work on one of the most complex and challenging programs in ADF history, one that seeks to transform the ADF into a fully networked, fifth-generation force better able to protect its airspace and vital assets from increasingly complex and lethal air and missile threats.

What will I be doing day to day? Scope and approve pre-Gate 2 activities within an air defence program Liaise with the Capability Manager to support development of pre-gate scope definitions and associated scoping documents Oversee development of engineering artefacts (Functional Performance Specifications, Test and Evaluation Management Plans, Statements of Work, etc) Provide engineering support to Department and Government submission development Facilitate and manage Industry and US Government engagements in the development and execution of work packages Mentor and develop engineering staff Oversee development and approval of engineering artefacts What sort of skills do I need? Experience within a Defence environment (preferably with Air Battle Management, Comms Networks, Missile Defence Networks, C2 Systems) Experience in Defence pre-gate activities Bachelors degree minimum in Engineering Experience leading or managing an Engineering Team Strong communication skills Process orientated with good attention to detail Hold a minimum NV1 security clearance (must be an Australian citizen) What's in it for me?
