Principal Engineer (React, Node, AWS)

Opus are currently representing a dynamic consultancy and web development company specialising in delivering innovative digital solutions to a diverse range of clients. They pride themselves on using cutting-edge technology to solve complex business challenges, and they're looking for a Principal Engineer to help lead a growing team.

As Principal Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and delivering high-quality, scalable web applications. You will oversee the development process from architecture to deployment, guiding a talented team of engineers and collaborating with clients to deliver solutions that drive real value. Your expertise in React, Node.js, and AWS will be crucial to ensuring solutions are both performant and secure.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the technical design and architecture of complex web applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Drive best practices in development, code quality, and system design.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to engineering teams.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security using AWS services.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Required Skills:
• 7+ years of experience in full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on React, Node.js, and AWS.
• Proven track record of designing and building large-scale, high-performance web applications.
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and serverless solutions.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), including services like Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, etc.
• Experience in leading engineering teams and managing projects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a client-facing role.
