This role will provide technical leadership in the mechanical discipline, and will oversee and execute high-level technical investigations, designs, and governance related to water and wastewater infrastructure.Your expertise will drive SA Water's success in delivering fit for purpose, innovative, and cost effective solutions.
This includes contributing to projects and shaping technical governance frameworks to ensure continuous improvement in mechanical engineering across the organisation.As a Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) in mechanical engineering, you will influence and contribute expertise across the Corporation, working with both water and wastewater infrastructure.Your new role:Provide expert design and technical leadership for SA Water's mechanical water and wastewater projects, ensuring through investigations and delivery of fit for purpose solutions.Act as a trusted Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) in mechanical engineering, guiding design processes and ensuring adherence to industry best practices and standards.Oversee and refine technical governance to deliver cost effective mechanical engineering solutions that align with SA Water's strategic objectives.Identify, evaluate and recommend innovative technologies to enhance the Corporation's capabilities and deliver operational improvements.Cultivate a collaborative environment that fosters knowledge sharing, professional development, and engagement across multidisciplinary teams, partners and the broader industry.Support a safety first culture by embedding health, safety and environmental considerations into the design and lifecycle management of mechanical assets.Provide clear, timely and accurate communication with stakeholders, delivering solutions that meet business priorities and exceed customer expectations.To be successful, you will need:Professional qualifications in mechanical engineering.Proven experience in mechanical engineering and the development and ongoing review of technical and infrastructure governance.Postgraduate qualifications are desirable but not essential.Detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering procedures and practices as applied in the water industry and large engineering organisations.Experience in the provision of investigation, option, concept and detailed design of mechanical infrastructure (water/wastewater networks).Demonstrated experience in the execution of novel, complex and critical engineering investigations and designs.Recognition of discipline expertise by Engineers Australia is essential.Benefits you will get in return:Flexibility to work from home.Mentorship and opportunities to build up technical knowledge in engineering to shape the future of the organisation.Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)Wellbeing days, Cultural Leave, Volunteering DaySuper SA benefitsOption to extend your holidays by Purchasing LeaveYou will be an integral part of the organisation and community, mentoring and leading within the team to achieve company strategies.
