Our client, a leading player in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to join their team on an immediate contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Control Systems Engineer to significantly impact an essential project. Role Overview
As the Principal Engineer, you will lead a team of professional engineers, providing expert guidance and oversight for complex engineering challenges. This role requires a high degree of independence, originality, and expertise in managing and integrating Advanced Energy Management Systems within a critical operational technology environment. Key Responsibilities
Spearhead a team of engineers in solving intricate engineering problems related to AEMS Drive continuous improvement and cost-effectiveness through innovative technologies Lead technical expertise delivery for AEMS-related projects, including design reviews and testing Oversee development of technical standards and integration of new technologies Direct AEMS and operational technology training programs Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements Provide advanced engineering oversight and address complex control system issues Establish engineering standards for use across the organization Lead SCADA and AEMS-related work for expedited projects and emergency changes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) Extensive experience in power systems control environments
Essential Experience
Proven expertise in control systems design, maintenance, and commissioning Strategic management of transmission control systems Innovation in work methodologies for efficiency, reliability, and safety Leadership of high-performance engineering teams Proficiency with SCADA data communication technologies Stakeholder collaboration and consensus-building skills Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical Engineering and Operational Technology In-depth understanding of National Electricity Rules (NER) and Australian Energy Regulator (AER) requirements
