Specialist technical expertise to project activities through effective leadership to project managers on civil design and construction.
Some of your responsibilities will include: Guide a team of Civil Designers and Engineers, providing expert technical direction and mentorship for the successful execution of design projects in the district's civil infrastructure programs. Exercise professional judgment to offer advice and assistance concerning design processes and engineering considerations ensuring projects and maintenance works meet technical design objectives in areas lacking defined engineering standards, promoting innovation and creativity in problem-solving. Offer expertise in evaluating engineering and design options, material usage, resource allocation, construction practices, advising on their suitability within projects. Strive for project success, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to best practices while ensuring value for money. Apply and implement all relevant standards, policies, guidelines with consideration and application of engineering principles and risk assessment to inform robust decision-making to ensure value-for-money outcomes and compliance with legal requirements related to the design. Certify schemes as a registered professional engineer as required. Mandatory qualifications and conditions: A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks. Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position. Current holder of a Class C driver licence. Desirable requirements: Significant years of experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team to successfully plan, develop and deliver large infrastructure projects and programs.
