Senior Electrical Engineer

Starting from an annual base salary of $155,500 + 12.75% Superannuation (Proposed Increase as of March 2025 to a range of $160,000 - 171,800).We are committed to finding the right candidate and salary will be commensurate with the role and your unique contributions and expertise.About the role:This specialist engineering position supports the development, maintenance, and improvement of our track maintenance rollingstock across Southeast Queensland and Regional Queensland, including hybrid power systems for low-emission and noise-free operations.
With plans to procure advanced rollingstock for track upgrades and maintenance, this role offers the chance to innovate and deliver value to our rail network.Key responsibilities include:Managing procurement contracts, including technical specifications, tender assessments, supplier management, and commissioning.Designing and upgrading plant and track maintenance rollingstock to enhance performance, safety, and compliance with standards.Providing expert advice on electrical engineering matters related to track maintenance rollingstock.Applying risk-based approaches to design and engineering processes that meet industry, legislative, and Queensland Rail standards.Leading small teams to deliver projects effectively and supporting staff development.Monitoring performance, investigating non-compliance, and implementing corrective actions.Staying abreast of industry advancements to drive innovation and recommend fleet improvements.About you:We are seeking an experienced and qualified professional with a passion for driving excellence and a proven ability to lead.
You will bring:Extensive knowledge of track maintenance rollingstock and/or other types of mobile or fixed plant that utilise electronic control systems.Understanding of hydraulic, hydrostatic, and pneumatic systems and the design of electrical/electronic systems used in conjunction with these systems.High-level skills in project and contract management, risk assessment, and compliance with standards and safety legislation.Proven experience in leading small engineering teams and delivering outcomes that meet business objectives.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline (e.g.
Mechatronics).Registration as a Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).Hold a current unrestricted driver's licence.Typical working hours:Our standard working hours are 38 hours per work week Monday to Friday.
