The Role
We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer – Hydropower as technical lead to join our National Dams and Hydropower business to work closely with our other specialists in the team on a significant hydropower project. This role will be based in our Brisbane office.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
15+ years' professional industry experience in hydroelectric power projects, including preparation in feasibility studies, tender and detail design, design review, site supervision, commissioning and rehabilitation
Sound knowledge of relevant standards including AS, IEC, IEEE and NFPA
Proficient in: Power System Studies including Short Circuit, Load Flow, Motor Starting, Transient and Harmonic
Detailed Single Line Diagram and Schematic Diagram (Wiring Diagram) Design for LV and MV Switchgears
Comprehensive understanding of salient pole generator design
Protection Studies and Design including Grading Studies
Earthing and Lightning Protection System Studies and Design
Lighting System Studies and Design
Cabling System Studies and Design
DC and UPS System Studies and Design
Communication Systems Design
