Principal Education Officer, Student Services - Central Queensland Region, EducationDepartment of Education QLD – Rockhampton QLDCentral Queensland Region is searching for a Principal Education Officer: Student Services (PEO:SS) to join our team in either our Rockhampton or Gladstone office. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for leading the development and implementation of inclusive schooling practices and a strong knowledge of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD). Travel and overnight absences from base may be required. Our vision is one of equity and excellence in a progressive, high performing education system that realises the potential of every student.About the role:As the Principal Education Officer, Student Services you will:Lead the development and implementation of inclusive schooling practices, including the enhancement of capacity building methodologies and the professional learning needs of specialist regional staff.Provide strategic and operational advice to regional leaders on the delivery of specialist regional services that assist inclusive schooling practices for students with diverse learning needs.Responsibilities include:Develop, monitor and promote capacity building systems and programs to support inclusive schooling practices for students with diverse learning needs including, but not limited to, students with disabilities, learning difficulties, giftedness, socio economic disadvantage, cultural and linguistic diversity, or social emotional disorders.Provide strategic and operational advice to the regional leaders to develop strategic partnerships with school communities, clusters of schools, community organisations, and government agencies to ensure that all students achieve quality educational outcomes.Provide strategic advice to regional leaders to assist in the planning of regional facilities and resources to facilitate the equitable delivery of services to students with diverse learning needs across the region.Provide leadership in research, development, maintenance and review of regional standards, procedures, programs and curriculum implementation for students with diverse learning needs.Contribute to planning and goal setting for the Region, providing high level and timely advice to regional leaders on complex and diverse emerging issues and priorities to meet the diverse needs of school communities.Prepare complex reports, submissions, briefs, memoranda and correspondence relating to sensitive issues across the Region.Provide professional support and guidance to professional groups such as Heads of Special Education Services, and Advisory (Visiting) Teachers.To Apply:Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history).Attach a 1-page written statement in response to the attached role description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.Salary rate shown is reflective of full-time (1.0 FTE).The Department of Education is a family inclusive workplace.
