Principal Education Officer (Eosd) - North Coast Region

Applications are invited to apply for the temporary position of Principal Education Officer to lead the North Coast Region Maximising Learning Team.

The successful applicant will be based at either the Maroochydore, Maryborough, or Bundaberg Regional Office.

The position is full-time within the North Coast Region, commencing 23 January 2025 until 27 June 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About The Maximising Learning Days Team Engaging every student in every state school in their learning is underpinned by high quality curriculum and teaching. With a focus on holistic approaches to student and staff wellbeing, schools create inclusive and positive learning and working environments.The North Coast Region's Maximising Learning team is a multi-disciplinary team that supports schools to maximise engagement of students.The team provides supports and capability at a student level, staff level, whole school and across school collaboration. The suitable applicant will have the capability to manage a diverse team and utilise a range of data sets to inform strategies and provide support.About The Role Lead and manage the project team to develop and implement strategies and initiatives to maximise learning for students.Exhibit and foster commitment to developing performance, capability and capacity in the department of best practice evidence-based approaches to teaching, learning and school improvement.Have demonstrated an ability to lead teams to maximise engagement for students.Mandatory Requirements You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role employed under Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016, have current full registration as a teacher and should be aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments.Employees engaged temporarily as Education Officer Special Duties have a requirement of 36¼ hours per week attendance and arrangements as outlined in clause 7.4 of the Department of Education State School Teachers Certified Agreement 2019.When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.Vision The ideal applicant will have the following key competencies: Leads strategically: thinks critically and acts on the broader purpose of the system.Stimulates ideas and innovation: gathers insights and embraces new ideas and innovation to inform future practice.Leads change in complex environments: embraces change and leads with focus and optimism in an environment of complexity and ambiguity.Makes insightful decisions: makes considered, ethical and courageous decisions based on insight into the broader context.Results Develops and mobilises talent: strengthens and mobilises the unique talents and capabilities of the workforce.Builds enduring relationships: builds and sustains relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.Inspires others: inspires others by driving clarity, engagement and a sense of purpose.Drives accountability and outcomes: demonstrates accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism persistence and transparency.Accountability Fosters healthy and inclusive workplaces: fosters an inclusive workplace where health, safety and wellbeing are promoted and prioritised.Pursues continuous growth: pursues opportunities for growth through agile learning and development of self-awareness.Demonstrates sound governance: maintains a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.Interested?
