Your opportunity

As a Principal Economic Development Officer, you contribute to the State Development team by supporting responsible economic development and building liveable communities.
You will connect industry, businesses, community, and government at all levels to create place-based solutions that leverage regional strengths and unlock sustainable growth.
This is your chance to be part of a team that supports new industry development, attracts new investors to Queensland, works with existing business to be part of major projects and contributes to the economic prosperity of the region.
For this role we are looking for strengths in:

Project management and deliveryStakeholder engagementStrategic thinkingAnalysis and assessmentTeamwork and collaborationStrong written and verbal communicationYour responsibilities

Leverage the team's strengths to lead the development and delivery of project plans that will promote industry and regional development, including research and reporting on progress.Access data and research new ideas and opportunities that will facilitate industry initiatives, industry clusters and supply chain development.Provide briefings, submissions, and other documentation that may be required.Build and leverage your networks to facilitate and assist industry and other stakeholders to connect with all levels of Government.Support regional leadership and capacity building to deliver on economic priorities of regional communities including the Local Economic Opportunities Network.Analyse trends and develop proposals to support policy development relevant to regional services.Represent the department at meetings, committees and industry events as required, including building, and maintaining purposeful relationships with a portfolio of clients.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
