As part of the Strategic Communications team, you'll develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based media and digital strategies that support workplace safety, electrical safety, workers' compensation, and industrial relations for Queenslanders.
This is a dynamic role blending strategic oversight with operational excellence, showcasing your ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
You will provide expert advice to the Executive Director, Director, and Manager within SC, alongside other key stakeholders on strategic and responsive media management and contemporary digital communication.
This will include crafting effective digital and media communication strategies that reflect our regulatory voice as clear, authoritative, and consistent, fostering trust and understanding amongst diverse stakeholders.
As the Principal Media and Digital Officer in the Strategic Communications and Data (SC) directorate, you'll lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of media and/or digital strategies and activities that support the Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) and align with government strategic priorities.
As a natural collaborator, you'll deliver evidence-based strategies/tactics that influence behavioural and attitudinal change in industry.
This Role is Both Strategic and Operational, Key Responsibilities Include: Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of media and/or digital strategies, activities and interactions, including media responses, editorials, media events/opportunities, interview requests, internal and external publications, social media channels/content and OIR's issues and crisis management framework.Supporting the Executive Director, Director and Manager/s within Strategic Communications to raise OIR's profile with industry and external audiences through the delivery of high quality, accurate digital and media materials and monitoring tasks that supports and promotes OIR's programs and initiatives.Leading the development, implementation, publication and evaluation of OIR's stakeholder eNews subscription service strategy (eSAFE rural, construction, electrical and general editions) and social media channels.Leading, coaching and motivating direct reports through regular feedback, mentoring and individualised support to achieve operational and personal development objectives.Developing and maintaining working relationships to deliver media/digital services in a timely manner, securing their assistance with media and digital engagement activities as required.Providing expert and timely advice to the Executive Director, Director and Manager on project progress, media responses, issues that may impact on service delivery, and new and emerging digital, media, or governance innovations that may enhance team performance and awareness and stakeholder engagement activities.Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of direct reports, ensuring you and your team members are aware of, and observing their responsibilities and obligations including under relevant OIR health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures.What you'll bring to the role: You bring extensive expertise in media planning, crisis communications, and issues management, paired with exceptional skills in crafting compelling messages across traditional and digital channels.
With a strong strategic vision, you develop media and digital strategies that drive measurable change, while fostering collaborative and productive stakeholder relationships alongside leading high-performing teams.
Your proficiency in digital tools, analytics, and creative execution ensures innovative and engaging solutions that align with organisational goals.
