The Digital and Technology, Data & Business Intelligence team at CS Energy is dedicated to providing holistic technology solutions, governance, and processes for our decentralised analytics and development teams.
We work closely with various business units to understand their data needs and ensure seamless integration across IT and Business functions.
Duties include the below, but are not limited to: Lead the delivery and quality of Data Engineers to deliver business outcomes on time and to requirements.Thought Leadership for Data Engineering practices across the enterprise.Lead Data Modelling activities to ensure data solutions are properly designed, modelled and implemented.Provide technical direction and support capability for ongoing enhancements, new projects and day-to-day support of systems, data, tools and technologies several of which are Business critical.Work with CSE Enterprise Data Architecture practices to provide technical design and development capability in building and enhancing existing Data solutions - The role will be heavily involved in designing, developing, enhancing and maintaining enterprise analytics solutions as well as in providing day-to-day BAU support (Incidents and Service Requests) for existing analytics systems, data warehouses and databases.Provide leadership for new projects and initiatives designing and delivering fit-for-purpose analytics and integration solutions in line with a maturing Technology Roadmap.Work within a team of IT specialists to develop and support Business critical systems, collaborating with business users, and liaising with the wider D&T team and external vendor partners, to achieve business outcomes.Engineer bespoke data solutions, data visualisations and dashboards involving batch and real-time data integrations, aligned to the prevailing architecture standards and future-state technical roadmaps.Use agile approaches, to design and develop graphical displays and reports using PowerBI, Tableau, Databricks, Snowflake and other analytics toolsets to ensure the right data is available to the right users at the right time in the right format.Be a key contributor towards implementing business intelligence and data engineering standards and frameworks and migrating or re-building legacy data solutions into the strategic technical solutions stack.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience: Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or adjacent field.10 years' experience working in Data Management, Data Engineering and Analytics.Experience leading a team of Data Engineering and Business Intelligence professionals in delivering data and integration solutions in a matrix organisation.Deep experience in Databricks and Snowflake environments.Moderate experience in Python and Matillion for Data Integration purposes.Demonstrable experience with Azure Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure API Management and associated Azure services.Solid hands-on experience in delivering data analytics and insights using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar like SSRS and SSAS with a good understanding of SQL and DAX syntax.High level RDBMS knowledge and deep SQL skills.Understanding and experience of data warehouse design and concepts, ETL, Middleware, BI Tools and SQL Development to manage the movement of data into the Enterprise Data Platform environments.Comprehensive understanding of business reporting.Strong business and stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to upskill business users in the use of analytics, insights and reporting tools.Strong problem solving and analytical skills.Experience in gathering and understanding business requirements, configuring, development and administering Integration and BI/DW solutions in a fast paced, agile environment.Solid understanding and experience of Middleware, ETL, BI Tools and SQL Development.
Highly Desirable: Snowflake or Databricks Competency and ability to train new business users.Agile and DevOps experience.Knowledge of integration between ERP, CRM and other systems.Good understanding of modern data platforms especially AI and ML.Previous experience within the energy sectors would be an advantage.ABOUT US CS Energy is a proudly Queensland-owned and based company that provides competitively-priced and reliable energy to some of our state's biggest industries and employers.
