Safer Care Victoria was established in January 2017 to ensure our health services are providing safe, high-quality care to patients: every time, everywhere.
As well as monitoring the standards of care provided, Safer Care Victoria is partnering with patients, clinicians and health service managers to support the continuous improvement of health care.
About the role: The Principal Data Analyst will provide expert analytical insights into healthcare quality and safety data.
They will use their knowledge, technical data expertise and stakeholder engagement skills to support SCV in the delivery of the Safer Together Program.
The Safer Together Program is our four-year statewide initiative that focuses on improving safety and operational excellence across the healthcare system.
The vision for the program is to build a safer and more sustainable health system that provides outstanding healthcare for all Victorians.
We aim to achieve this through formalising informal networks to proactively address systemic issues and create an environment for cooperation, collaboration, sharing and learning.
The Principal Data Analyst will play a central role in supporting the data capability of the Improvement Branch.
This will include, but is not limited to, supporting the development of measure specification, administrative data extraction, analysis and data visualization to monitor and track the impact of the Safe Together Program improvement work.
They will also provide expert analytics insights to support the identification of strategic future opportunities within the program.
Although there are currently no direct reports, in future, the Principal Data Analyst may be responsible for direct line management of senior data analysts.

This role will lead activities that help drive the successful delivery of priority design projects that improve the way the department operates.
