Join our hard-working team based in Bowen Hills. This is an exciting permanent full-time opportunity. The Principal Data Analyst sits within the Data Enhancement Team and is responsible for leading data analytics initiatives for the Supply Chain Surety Branch.
Responsibilities:Perform metadata design and maintenance, developing and maintaining data structures and models suitable for the strategic objectives.Demonstrate highly effective interpersonal skills at all levels, including consultation and presentation skills and proven ability in negotiation and influencing.Participate in the preparation of high-level briefing documents, submissions, correspondence, and reports as required.Proactively contribute to maintaining the desired culture within a high-performing team by working smartly and independently, behaving in a professional manner in accordance with agreed policies, utilising initiative and maintaining a positive outlook and approach.Use ethical decision-making and project management principles in the achievement of project goals.Role Fit: The essential requirements for this role are:
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases and query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases including cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft Azure Services.Advanced knowledge and experience in the use of business intelligence software (in particular Microsoft Power Platform) and information reporting systems used for the extraction, manipulation and professional presentation and dissemination of reports from complex systems.Advanced knowledge and experience with a variety of ETL and coding applications such as Python, R, DAX, and MDX to support the analysis and reporting on large volumes of warehouse data and exceptions.Proven analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets and a proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.High level written and oral communication skills including liaising, consulting and stakeholder engagement with a broad range of clients in a complex and diverse environment.Experience performing root cause analysis on internal data, external data, and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.Expertise in, and application of, appropriate data management methodologies, and an ability to promote and provide advice on the use of appropriate data management techniques, methodologies and tools.Proven ability to take responsibility and deliver outcomes within complex situations with minimal supervision.Qualifications, Registrations and Other Requirements: While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
