Principal Contracts Specialist The Company: Global EPCM Benefits: Competitive salary and flexible working arrangements Assignment length: Initial 12 months (subject to extension) The company/project Our client, a sized company within the mining industry, is looking for a Principal Contracts Specialist, in Perth, to work on a major Iron-Ore project. The role As a Principal Contract Specialist, you will be responsible for administering contracts of unlimited dollar value to ensure that contractors fully meet Company and project requirements. Oversee procurement of equipment, materials, and services, ensuring quality compliance. Support negotiation of terms and conditions, including drafting special conditions. Assist in developing project procurement strategy and implementation. Integrate HSE considerations into procurement processes. Manage tender process, review submissions, and negotiate terms. Prepare contract recommendations and draft purchase orders. Maintain procurement data systems and ensure documentation compliance. Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely delivery of services. Monitor contractor/supplier performance and administer contracts. What you'll need to succeed University degree, preferably in Law, or equivalent experience in supply chain, business administration, or construction management. Extensive experience in contracts and procurement within EPCM/EPC organizations. Proven ability to develop procurement strategies and negotiate contract terms effectively. Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards. Proficiency in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) practices. Accreditation such as MCIPS/RIQS or equivalent certification is highly regarded. Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly in conveying complex proposals to senior management. Leadership capabilities, including leading project teams and guiding staff. Proficiency in project and procurement software systems. Experience in client interaction and fulfilling reporting obligations. Only candidates with the right to work in Australia will be considered.
