This is a permanent full-time position commencing ASAPThe School Curriculum and Standards Division (SCS) provides administrative and secretariat services for, and implements the decisions of, the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority).
The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all students studying Western Australian Curriculum to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.The Authority has been licensing Western Australian curriculum programs to overseas schools for more than 32 years and has commenced work to grow the number of overseas schools doing so.The Authority supports overseas schools approved to deliver Western Australian curriculum programs in Standard Australian English.
The Authority provides schools with access to syllabuses, support materials, annotated work samples, comprehensive data and support.
It also provides and administers external examinations that measure student achievement.
Schools receive comprehensive feedback and specialist advice on their teaching and learning programs, assessment and student achievement based on Western Australian standards.
The Authority has clearly established policies and procedures, including reviews, visits and data analysis to support overseas schools.The RoleThe School Curriculum and Standards Division is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed Principal Consultant - Secondary - Curriculum and Assessment (International) to be part of a challenging, rewarding and exciting international education opportunity.
The position requires an individual with specialised expertise in the teaching of Mathematics – Specialists, Methods and Applications in Year 11 and 12 and Mathematics curriculum in Years 7 to 10.The Principal Consultant - Secondary Curriculum manages and provides leadership for the development and review of curriculum, assessment and standards support materials for Years 7 -12.The role of the Principal Consultant, Secondary Curriculum and Assessment - International - Mathematics will require you to: provide support, including on-site visits from time-to-time, to schools located overseas who are licensed by the Authority to deliver the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline (Outline), Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and/or other connected curriculum programs.develop and review curriculum and assessment related resources which support implementation of the Outline, the WACE and other connected curriculum programs.monitor and review the implementation and delivery of curriculum, courses and course standards, projects and programs.provide high-level curriculum expertise in producing quality Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) course examinations, corresponding marking keys and related resource materials.facilitate consultation and collaborative processes between school systems/sector, schools and other stakeholder organisations to share ideas and devise common approaches on the implementation of the Authority's policies and procedures.will manage contract writers and associated physical resources, if required, in a manner which meets legislated requirements and provides executive support for advisory committees when required.
