Curriculum, Assessment and Strategic Policy are seeking to establish a pool of Principal Consultant Primary - Curriculum and Assessment for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025.
Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for and implements the decisions of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority).
The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.

The Role The Principal Consultant, Primary - Curriculum and Assessment will manage and provide leadership for the development and review of curriculum, assessment and standards support materials for Kindergarten to Year 6.
A key work focus for the Authority is the adopting and adapting of the Australian Curriculum version 9 to the Western Australian context.
The Principal Consultant(s) will be responsible for contributing to the development of support materials, and the delivery of professional learning, to assist teachers in the implementation of the revised curriculum in 2026.

Primary School teachers and leaders with a depth of curriculum knowledge in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
Arts Health and Physical Education Humanities and Social Sciences Languages Mathematics Science Technologies Applicants are required to identify any areas of specialisation (e.g., Humanities and Social Sciences) and your experience and curriculum leadership within the learning area/s you are applying for.

Demonstrated high-level knowledge of curriculum and assessment in the context of the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline, the Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines, The Early Year Learning Framework, performance monitoring and review.

Demonstrated substantial project and program management skills, including the ability to implement processes to facilitate monitoring, reporting and successful delivery and objectives in a timely manner.

Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in undertaking consultation, stakeholder engagement, collaboration and negotiation.
