The Role
The Principal Consultant Labour Market Analyst manages the research, economic modelling, and data analysis necessary to underpin the WA public sector's investment into the development of a progressive, innovative, and inclusive Western Australian workforce.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have a strong background and considerable experience in managing and undertaking research, data analytics, economic modelling, and project management designed to assess, forecast, and align the supply and demand of skills and occupations within the State's labour market. You should also have high-level data management skills suitable for being responsible for the systemic collection, storage, analysis, and dissemination of a wide variety of workforce and training-related data.
You will also require a high level of conceptual ability, and the ability to think critically to solve problems in a data analysis and policy context, with a strong appreciation for the importance of evidence-based decision-making. This includes the ability to understand, monitor, and report on key current and future workforce trends for the State. Aligned with this, you will also require highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex statistical information and research concisely for a wide variety of audiences.
A further requirement of this role is a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the development and implementation of responsive initiatives to address State training and employment priorities.
