Exciting opportunity to join the Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Group as the Principal Consultant (Injury Management).
The Principal Consultant (Injury Management) provides expert advice and guidance on matters relating to workplace injury management, whilst supporting the Manager (Injury Management) in the development, implementation and management of systems, policies, services and programs that promote early intervention and return to work.
A key focus of the role is to provide direct team leadership and support to a network of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Consultants (OHSECs) that are located in correctional facilities across the State.
The Principal Consultant (Injury Management) works as a part of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing group, supports the Manager (Injury Management), and works in partnership with other areas of the business to build a capable and resilient workforce.
In this role you will:Develop, manage and deliver health, safety and injury management systems, services and programs, consistent with corporate objectives.Oversee the provision of locally-based health, safety and injury management systems and services and provide advice to managers in such instances.Provide functional direction and managerial support to IM officers located across the State and facilitate their continuing development to ensure compliance and contemporary practice.Review, develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures relating to work health, safety and injury management, to support a sustainable safety culture.Partner with other areas of the business, and engage with the workforce, to design and facilitate a range of responses to promote and build safer and healthier workplaces.Support other QCS initiatives (including those relating to wellbeing, human rights, organisational development and transformation) by ensuring work health, safety and injury management systems, services and programs are appropriately aligned.Co-design and co-deliver integrated employee programs and services wherever possible and appropriate.Build strategic partnerships across all levels of management and with the employee group to ensure a 'safer and healthier workplaces' culture achieves and maintains its profile as a critical business consideration.Actively work in collaboration and consultation with central agencies, regulatory authorities, relevant professional and peak industry bodies, and other external stakeholders to build QCS' and HSW's body of evidence on employee health and safety in correctional settings.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
