The Opportunity
Veris is looking for a Principal GIS Consultant to join our dynamic Digital & Spatial Team in Adelaide. You will have a strong technical background in GIS project delivery, business development, and mentoring. We want you to be interested in GIS in all forms, from large infrastructure projects to applying the latest GIS technology for edge cases to applying GIS in non-traditional projects!
About You
This is a senior individual contributor role, where you will be responsible for:
Identifying and developing new business opportunities for GIS. Leading delivery of significant geospatial projects for SA and nationally. Testing cutting-edge GIS proof-of-concept solutions. Experimenting with new geospatial technologies. You will also be a technical mentor, working as part of the broader national GIS team at Veris.
You have: Relevant tertiary qualification (Geographic Information Science, Geomatic Science/Engineering or Spatial Sciences, Computer Science/Engineering, Surveying) or other relevant geospatial degrees. Minimum of 10 years' experience, preferably in the Architectural, Engineering or Construction industry and in the implementation of large, commercially successful GIS projects. Experience in designing and developing GIS solutions, including creating applications and visualisations, spatial database modelling, integrations, and analytical workflows. Experience with GIS software suites (we are software agnostic - including, but not limited to, Esri, FME, and QGIS/open source); and experience with spatial coding/scripting/software development (e.g. Python, R, .Net, JavaScript). Experience working on projects as a project manager or technical lead. Our Culture
