We are open to considering candidates at both Principal Consultant or Technical Director levels.

In this role, you will balance work-winning in VIC, staff recruitment and development, and the technical delivery of Environmental Effects Statements (EES) and land-use planning projects to facilitate the planning and approval processes for major infrastructure projects in the transport, water, power/renewables, and property sectors.

We offer a hybrid work arrangement, with the opportunity to work from our Melbourne CBD office and remotely for 2-3 days per week , as desired.

What you'll do Support and deliver environmental assessment and planning projects, including environmental impact assessment and land use planning projects (EIS, SSI, SSD, REFs etc).
Develop new and support existing relationships with clients.
Contribute to the overall growth of the business with your work winning initiatives, including preparation of fee proposals.
Provide planning inputs into large scale local and national infrastructure projects such as: renewable energy focused projects – transmission and generation.
transport projects – supporting new infrastructure developments and the transition of existing infrastructure towards Net Zero status.
water projects – supporting asset maintenance and delivery programs.
other city shaping projects – property and building developments and land use planning.
Work with various clients including Commonwealth, State and Local Governments and the private sector (including Tier 1 Developers).
Collaborate with technical discipline specialists such as ecologists, acousticians and contaminated land scientists, engineers and designers, stakeholders and the community to create innovative solutions.
Our recent projects include: Early strategic environmental assessment of renewable energy projects including emerging renewable technologies (offshore wind, pumped hydro and hydrogen technologies) and transport projects such as Fast Rail and Zero Emissions Bus transitions.
Planning approvals for iconic projects including, Beaufort Bypass, Inland Rail and large transmission line and energy transition projects such as EnergyConnect and Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone.
About you You're likely to have 10+ years of experience in planning and environmental approvals, and you strive to resolve environmental issues to help shape outcomes in our community.

In addition, you bring the following skills and attributes:
Strong work winning skills and attributes, including experience leading pursuits and bidding large environmental projects.
A thorough understanding of VIC's environmental assessment framework.
Extensive experience in authoring and reviewing Statement of Environmental Effects, Environmental Impact Statements and Review of Environmental Factors.
Project management skills in coordinating multidisciplinary projects and fostering client relationships.
A desire to build your brand in both the VIC and national markets.
