Principal Consultant Aboriginal Engagement The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Principal Consultant Aboriginal Engagement to be part of our Industry, Strategy and Partnerships Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The Principal Consultant Aboriginal Engagement is part of the Industry Partnerships and Intelligence branch within the Industry, Strategy and Partnerships division, which provides cross-divisional leadership and services in strategic planning, industry partnerships and intelligence, legislative reform, policy and program development and strategic communications and engagement.
The Principal Consultant Aboriginal Engagement plays a key role in providing leadership and expert advice to the planning and delivery of a wide range of Aboriginal engagement and economic development projects that deliver outcomes for aboriginal people and communities in line with PIRSA commitments under its Reconciliation Action Plan and the South Australian Closing the Gap plan.
The role will focus effectively on engagement internally and externally to ensure delivery of PIRSA's commitments across the state. Working as part of a diverse team, the role provides leadership and input to the development of strategy around Aboriginal engagement in the Agency, as well as leading initiatives for employment and development of indigenous employees.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience working within the Aboriginal community, establishing strategy for business engagement with the Aboriginal community and workplace inclusion and organisational development.
Requirements Possession of a current driver's licence and willingness to drive. Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel including overnight stays, may be required. You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations. The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies. Contribute to whole-of-agency working groups developing PIRSA policy responses to significant and emerging issues, as required. Demonstrated knowledge and application of the relevant state and national legislative frameworks associated with aboriginal engagement and policy development and processes. Application Instructions
