As Principal Compliance Officer, Marketplace Investigations, you will supervise investigations and proactive compliance strategies, monitor enforcement outcomes, and organise the delivery of industry education on behalf of the Office of Fair Trading.
The Investigations and Enforcement Division is a division of the Office of Fair Trading, responsible for monitoring Queensland businesses that are in trade or commerce to ensure a safe and fair marketplace.
It achieves this goal by educating consumers, traders and organisations about their rights and responsibilities under fair trading legislation, identifying and investigating potential breaches of legislation and taking enforcement action where appropriate. Marketplace Investigations is a unit within the Investigations and Enforcement Division.
As Principal Compliance Officer you will: Supervise the operations of MPI to ensure performance objectives are achieved.Provide advice regarding the development and implementation of state-wide compliance strategies, programs, procedures, and systems.Monitor the investigation and resolution of significant and/or sensitive complaints, including the determination of appropriate enforcement actions, and report outcomes to Manager, MPI.Report against operational/business plans to ensure reliable delivery of compliance activities and investigations and to highlight issues of current and emerging significance.Provide staff with supervision and guidance that fosters a commitment to innovation, teamwork, collaboration, a service orientation, and a learning environment.Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, including other government agencies, lawyers, the business sector and consumers, to achieve meaningful outcomes.Undertake media liaison and provide advice in accordance with OFT's media interaction policy.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
