The Principal Community Services Officer provides leadership and management of staff within the Early Action Group to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children, young people, and families.

The role is responsible for leading and coordinating case management within the Early Action Group to support high-quality outcomes for young people and families.


Key Responsibilities:Support the operation of the Early Action Group in Cairns.Develop and lead strong, integrated multi-agency practice within the Early Action Group to intervene with young people who are at high risk of entering the youth justice system and their families. In collaboration with non-government funded and unfunded provider/s and relevant government agencies, support and guide the coordination of services and interventions provided to young people and their families.Supervise and conduct case management and service response activities, including service mapping, outcome monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, to identify potential challenges and enhance service delivery.Represent the Department at regional consultation forums, committees, or working groups as required.Promote learning and information sharing within the Early Action Group in relation to services, networks, and referral pathways within the community, through site mentoring, delivery of learning and development opportunities, and via the preparation of a range of high-quality communication materials.Provide leadership, practice advice, and management of staff within the Early Action Group to deliver appropriate service responses to children and young people who are at high risk of entering the youth justice system, their families, and the community.Support leadership in the implementation of strategies that facilitate and sustain the formation of partnerships between the department and other agencies within the Early Action Group.Establish and maintain effective communication with key stakeholders.Facilitate effective engagement and partnership with First Nations people, communities, and organisations.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
