About the Role
The Principal Communications Adviser supports the Deputy Director in providing strategic advice for communications, stakeholder engagement, events and projects.
This role develops and implements internal and external communications and optimises internal communication channels to support the Department's vision, values and strategic priorities.
The role delivers expert copywriting and content production for internal channels, corporate reports, publications, videos and presentations, the Department's website and social media channels (namely LinkedIn).
In this work, the Principal Communications Adviser works closely with the design team to deliver high quality communications materials and products.

Selection Criteria:
Competitive candidates for this role will be able to demonstrate the following:
Strong conceptual and analytical skills including a demonstrated ability to gather information, analyse key issues and formulate communication plans to overcome problems.
Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills with an ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels and present ideas clearly and accurately.
An ability to work independently and as part of a team and take initiative to prioritise work, deliver outcomes, meet deadlines and keep others informed.
Strong written communications skills, with an ability to write clearly simplify concepts for a range of audiences.
Suitable applicants will be required to provide:
Proof of identity 100-point check (details will be advised after selection).
A satisfactory National Police Certificate issued by the Western Australian Police Force.
