This role will focus on developing a new clinical informatics service line for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The role will involve both client work and the creation of innovative informatics capabilities and solutions to enhance care delivery for Veterans. We are committed to leading initiatives that enhance user engagement and streamline processes, ensuring that our informatics capabilities align with client needs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOur key areas of focus include education and training, human-centered design, change management and performance improvement, clinical informatics workflows, analysis and policy, technical operations, while growth opportunities in informatics policy analysis, documentation and interoperability, systems design and engineering, and risk management and security.Minimum QualificationsAdvanced degree in Health Informatics, Nursing Informatics, or related field; MD or clinical background preferredMinimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experienceMinimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical informatics with direct experience in the VA or other federal health clientsStrong understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical terminologies, and interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR)Proficiency in data analysis toolsKnowledge of healthcare regulations relevant to the VAExcellent communication and project management skillsProven ability to identify and help resolve issues and risksProven ability to lead a team ensuring that all requirements are fulfilledAuthorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorshipAbility to obtain a public trustAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin.
