Principal Civil Engineer | Land - ( 240002ET ) Description We are seeking a Principal Civil Engineer with urban, land and subdivision experience to join our Community Development team of engineers, designers and drafters in our Townsville office.
In this role you will manage the civil design and documentation on a variety of urban, land and subdivision projects in both the public and private sectors, across an extensive regional client portfolio.
You will have the opportunity in resolving design constraints, coordinating projects, interfacing with various disciplines and delivering projects with the support of a multi-disciplinary team dispersed across the state.
You will have the opportunity to be the 2IC for technical design, office management and strategic direction of the Townsville office.
You will represent the company externally to Clients and play a senior and active role in managing these relationships.
You will enjoy a diverse position and will need to have the ability to multitask and share your time between project involvement, business development, group performance and management responsibilities.
Day to day tasks would involve: Design, coordination and project management of urban, land and subdivision projects, from feasibility through to delivery Prepare technical reports and specifications Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects Manage projects including scheduling and the preparation of project budgets Coordinate between disciplines on multidisciplinary projects Undertake and manage site inspections Contribute to the development of Stantec's knowledge and skills in civil engineering including planning, design, and construction Mentoring engineers, designers, and drafters to enable them to perform successfully at all levels.
Maintain existing and develop new, trusted relationships with key clients Assist in the securing and delivery of projects by way of business development and client relationship management To be successful for this role you'll need: Bachelor of Civil Engineering Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and the delivery of projects, ideally within urban, land and subdivisions Experience and a sound understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling and construction Project management skills Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including report writing.
