We have a career opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer in our Community Development business unit in Perth. This business unit has a strong pipeline of work in urban, land and subdivisions. We are seeking a Civil Engineer with demonstrated Western Australian design and project management experience, who can further the technical and leadership capabilities of the team. About the role Stantec Community Development Perth team are involved in exciting projects within a variety of industries and sectors including land development, civil infrastructure, transport, mining, water and buildings. This role includes project design and delivery across a range of projects and sectors. Projects range from early concept design and master planning through to detailed design and construction documentation. The role will require independent project delivery, client liaison and ability to win work. The role will suit someone who has a good technical design background, strong consulting engineering and project delivery skills over a range of areas and clear knowledge of applicable standards and processes. Day to day tasks would involve: Design, coordination and project management of urban, land and subdivision projects, from feasibility through to delivery Prepare technical reports and specifications Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects Manage projects including scheduling and the preparation of project budgets Coordinate between disciplines on multidisciplinary projects Undertake and manage site inspections Contribute to the development of Stantec's knowledge and skills in civil engineering including planning, design, and construction Mentor engineers, designers, and drafters to enable them to perform successfully at all levels. Maintain existing and develop new, trusted relationships with key clients Assist in the securing and delivery of projects by way of business development and client relationship management To be successful for this role you'll need: Bachelor of Civil Engineering Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and the delivery of projects, ideally within urban, land and subdivisions Experience in civil design of buildings (highly desirable) Experience and a sound understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling and construction Project management skills Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including report writing.
