Our Energy and Chemical team have been directly supporting refinery operations such as Alcoa, bp, CSBP and other industry sector clients along the Kwinana strip as well as throughout Western Australia for many decades. Our team is now embarking on a major project delivering the new bp refinery at Kwinana which will process waste oil into low carbon fuels of the future.

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will bring your vast technical experience and industry experience in mining, mineral processing and/or petrochemical plant to lead our civil team in delivering all civil design relating to the new bp refinery plant.

What you'll do We are looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to join our team in Perth.
The role responsibilities include:
Reporting to the engineering manager, you will be supporting a team of engineers and designer to delivery civil design of open and closed drainage structures, retaining walls, laydown and hardstands, underground drainage network and general civil design around processing plant. Be responsible for the technical delivery all civil elements that is supported by calculation packages. Perform supporting tasks such as: Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures; Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes; Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.For example, write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations and write purchase orders. Be responsible for on: Scope management relating to the civil design; Technical supervision of inexperience engineers; Cross disciplinary coordination to ensure successful delivery of Customer's requirement. Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its bp's project requirements. Communicate effectively with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer. What you'll have Bachelor of Civil Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree with extensive experience in civil engineering design in the mining, energy and/or infrastructure sector and previous experience in either heavy industrial or petrochemical plant projects is not essential but advantageous. Experience with managing drainage/ effluent system in petrochemical and exposure to petrochemical facilities is desirable. Familiarity with software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD and with bulk earthworks design, drainage and heavy pavement design. Worked with team with diverse background and proven experience in managing a project team and should be highly focused on delivery and service. Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers. A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements. Experience in using of various civil engineering specific software, proficient use of civil engineering specific software and exposure to MWRA design standards is desirable.
