The Role We have a fixed term opportunity available for a Principal Care Services Coordinator within the Catastrophic Injuries Support (CIS) Team.
The Principal Care Services Coordinator is responsible for leading a team of Senior and Care Services Coordinators while providing strategic support to the CIS Scheme Manager. This includes ensuring the effective delivery of rehabilitation programs, injury recovery goals, return to work/home arrangements and ongoing support needs of catastrophically injured participants through collaborative and productive relationships with key stakeholders.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life and independence outcomes for those who have experienced life-changing injuries from a catastrophic accident.
The Person In addition to a tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/Registered Nurse or similar discipline, and current registration with the relevant professional body, you will have the capability to:
Manage a team of skilled health professionals with the ability to mentor, motivate and develop people;Independently assess, allocate, coordinate and monitor the needs of people with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury or other catastrophic injuries within the team while providing clinical and technical expertise related to these injuries;Use well-developed and effective verbal and written communication, negotiation, empathic and influencing skills to provide a high level of customer service, conflict resolution and expectation management;Apply high level and effective case management/coordination strategies to assist people with catastrophic injuries;Apply extensive high level clinical knowledge to manage a range of stakeholders internal and external to the Insurance Commission;Contribute to research and service development for a team delivering a high quality service.You will receive ongoing training, coaching and mentoring to enhance your skills.
A current Working with Children's Check (WWCC) is a requirement of this position.
